One of the midwest’s largest photo competitions will be held April 16-18, 2010! Following a record turnout for the 2009 event, The Hocking Hills State Park and Friends of the Hocking Hills will host the 9th annual "Shoot the Hills" Photography Competition Weekend, where more than $3,000 in prizes will be awarded.
The highlight of the weekend is a 24-hour photo contest encompassing four Ohio counties: Hocking, Athens, Fairfield, and Vinton. All activities are open to the public free of charge, although a registration fee is required to enter the contest.
The weekend also includes vendors, photography programs, special speakers, nature hikes, plus a unique photo opportunity with birds of prey by the Hocking Hills State Park Naturalist. Another feature is the addition of the "Shoppe the Hills Artisan & Craft Show" that runs concurrently at the State Park Dining Lodge.
