Meet The Director
Brad Hoehne, Director, John Glenn Astronomy Park
For Brad Hoehne, the John Glenn Astronomy Park is much more than a place to observe the night sky. It is the realization of an idea that began more than two decades ago.
An amateur astronomer for more than thirty years, Brad has long been passionate about sharing astronomy with others and creating opportunities for people to experience the wonder of the universe for themselves. In 2003, he developed the original concept that would eventually become the John Glenn Astronomy Park – a place where the remarkably dark skies of Hocking Hills could become a gateway to science, education, and exploration.
Today, as Director of JGAP, Brad continues to shape that vision through public programs, special events, and experiences designed to make astronomy approachable for everyone – from seasoned stargazers to families and children looking through a telescope for the very first time.
For Brad, the goal isn't simply to teach people about what is above them. It's to encourage them to look up, become curious, and keep exploring.
"A dedicated stargazer can spend an entire lifetime exploring the universe as seen from our spinning, whirly-gig Earth and still never run out of fresh delights. Enjoy the ride!"
